Fatal But Not Serious

After having a wonder around Deviant Art I stumbled upon an exceptional artist’s gallery (Rick Mays) and loved that he had his own style based around Adam Warren’s ‘lovely angels’ that was his own. So, I’ve designed this piece as a Fan Art variant cover for Adam Warren’s Graphic Novel ‘The Dirty Pair, Fatal but not Serious’ trying to keep it comic book style but having my own take on the characters. I spent a considerable amount of time researching girls that could fit the bill as Kei and Yuri and finally decided on Isla Fisher and Jennifer Love Hewitt to draw up (with a couple of exaggerated aspects… eh-hem). The background was a long haul to draw up too; I wanted a complex city look that still showed aspects of the Convention Central’s Krafft-Bing Hotel (if you get in close enough, there are signs and bits that can be recognised from the original story). The entire image was done in line art and coloured in Photoshop. Comments are as always welcome as usual and I hope it was worth the wait.
